Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies  Auxiliary was started by Nola  Hines and a group of ladies in the community many years ago.  The built a strong tradition of hosting community events.

Nola had 13 children.  Many of them, as well as their spouses and children helped at the hall. Some still help today, even if they don't live in the community.

In recent years, we have focused on keeping the tradition alive with many events for families and children.

The Ladies Auxiliary is run by Bonnie Hines and Vivian Kohout.  Bonnie, who is Nola's daughter - in- law, has lived in the community for 38 years.  Vivian Kohout has lived in the community for 49 years.

The Ladies Auxiliary is not a formal group.  They have a great support system in the community.  Lots of people are willing to lend a hand when needed to help make events successful.

The Ladies would would love to see some new people get involved, and are always looking for helpers. Working these events is always fun and a great way to meet new people,or socialize with old friends.

Vivan and Bonnie look forward to meeting you soon!

Crystal Yeo

Community Member at large

As a working mother of two, a sense of community was a very important factor in choosing a home; as a REALTOR® it was even more important I made the right choice the first time. Grand Lake became the perfect choice in 2005 and continues to foster the values of respect, community, and family. It’s a neighbourhood that gives us access to great schools, great neighbours and community events that you will not find living in the city. I became involved with the Grand Lake/Oakfield Community because I have pride in my community and want to give back to the people who work so hard to make this a great place to live!
